Issues I Can Help You With

What we call “anxiety” or “stress” may show up as racing thoughts, irritability, difficulty focusing, lack of sleep, or sleep that leaves us still tired.

If we slow it down, we may notice a battle of emotions: fear, anger, sadness, shame…. Or a struggle between the internal energy to make changes and some internal block that make those changes difficult. Some will say: “what’s wrong with me, and why can’t I do what I intend to do?”

Some people avoid certain situations (especially social ones), or feel they need to use substances or habits in order to cope with that kind of stress.

Or they have difficult relationships (“having a short fuse”, or an internal sense of difficulty), estrangement, etc.

You may feel you have little or no control. You might be tired of “all of it”. You might even be tired of talking about it – and that might be right because, often, “just talking” only makes things worse.

You may need to feel better before you can feel even better.

Before we go any further, could I invite you to do a short experiment? If you’re in a position to do so straight away – would you play this 2 minute video? I’d be interested to know how this works for you – now, and maybe in the next days, as you make a little bit of space for yourself.

For some people, it’s enough to learn to do tapping by themselves. I find the manual published by EFT international particularly helpful. You can get a free copy here – in several languages.

Of course, that’s no substitute for working with someone who is trained and has the experience, if that’s what you want and feel you need.

People who have survived a dysfunctional childhood quite often grow up to carry some emotional problems, including problems with self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness and limiting self-beliefs.

Sometimes this shows up as addictions or all sorts of compound problems.

Some people are successful on the outside, but still feel there’s something wrong that they cannot name or talk about.

If you feel there might be issues from your childhood that impact you now, or issues that tell you you might be suffering from PTSD – EFT (tapping) has shown good results.

I can work with you to soften and release the negative emotions, minimise the bad memories, re-frame the beliefs formed during childhood, and create new positive responses. We may also consider forgiveness and self-compassion during the healing process.

The process can be extremely quick, considering that often these are things that you may have carried for a very long time.

Acute and momentary pain is frequently a normal sensation. It makes us pay attention to a possible injury, and take action: we tend to either stop what we were doing, or get something or someone that will help.

Chronic pain, “pain lasting more than twelve weeks”, is very different. We do our best to treat it and we also to ignore it, but it limits us, it gets in the way of everything we do, and it can make us irritable and grumpy.

Sometimes, pain persists because we keep doing something that’s not good for us, and we don’t know how to stop or change it. In some cases, pain can be an expression of an internal unresolved tension – including the expectation of the pain itself, which is of course upsetting: we tense up expecting the pain, and it’s that very tension that causes or worsens the pain.

Two things can help. We can find ways to make the pain less intense, and we can work on the emotional components which tend to increase the pain and keep us stuck.

How much better we can get varies, but improvements can be substantial.

We can use EFT to “follow the pain”, listen to it so that we can really hear what it’s telling us, and act from that improved knowledge.

Maybe what’s outlined above is not exactly what your problem is. Feel free to contact me, and we can have a 15 minute call that will tell us whether we are a good fit.
