Modalities, Tools & Frameworks
EFT / tapping:
EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as “tapping”, involves gentle self-percussive stimulation of several points on the body. These points are associated with the theory behind the ancient Chinese meridian energy system, and modern research and practice shows how the activation of those points make it easy for the body-mind system to focus while calming down.
The tapping is done while repeating specific phrases, said to you by the practitioner and repeated by you aloud. The words used are based on your words. This guarantees that the words resonate with your nervous system and your worldview in that moment.
These simple techniques, used gently and skillfully, allow you to connect with the issue you are wanting to change, while calming down the nervous system. That way, previously unresolved emotions and symptoms can be released, a new clarity emerges, and you may make specific “updates” in some old patterns if they no longer serve you.
While some issues will show immediate improvement, some deeper ones may require more time to resolve. There is wide experience in ways to make the waiting easier, so that advancement happens exactly at your preferred pace.
If you wish, I will teach you how to use “tapping” as a self-care tool, keeping things simple and applicable to your life in the way you want it to work for you.
Even now that you’re reading this, if you want to learn more, there are many research articles and studies openly available from the various EFT organisations and associations. Please see my list of resources (which includes videos, manual and other resources, and links to the updated science).
Other therapeutic approaches:
While EFT / tapping is a core practice, there are many other approaches that we can use.
I can offer you guided relaxation. I have learned and developed some special ways of gradually going from a “noisy head” to a surprisingly deep level of silence. As you feel physically more and more relaxed, your mind will also become quieter and quieter. This will give you a rest and will assist your mind to more deeply integrate the new learning.
Welcome and Release (“Sedona method”) is a set of simple practices that can be used in sophisticated ways to help you release very deeply.
If it makes sense to you, we can work with Internal Family Systems (“parts”, developed originally by Richard Schwartz).
We may use other techniques that allow processing triggering memories in a very powerful way.
We can use my experience in teaching and using simple thinking tools, again if and as needed, to help you notice and clarify your own thinking patterns. This will increase your self-awareness and provide you extra ways to move forward in a conscious way.
